This computer is giving me serious problems, so I decided I'd get my Fourth of July Tribute to Our Troops and Veterans out Today.

They deserve all the love and support that we can give them.
Obviously it's up to us, the people for whom they are giving their all for to do it.

Since I have totally confused you all, I decided to post some of the music I grew up listening to, today.

Maybe it will give you all a little glimpse of who I really am.

I am a Peaceful Irish Rebel.

I also feel that I must state, as a Peaceful Rebel that these songs are my Heritage. They are not a call for rebellion. They are simply an historical fact.

I guess a lot of yesterday's criticism's were my fault. I was lazy when I wrote If You thought I Was Angry Before.

I should have quoted from the link and explained my comments more fully.

But damn I was just so upset at those Tribal leaders getting murdered. The US was just about to hand over that province to them to govern. And some damn fools ruined it. Besides the fact that I felt so sorry for them! All they want is Peace and I want them to have it, now!

We need to let the Iraqi's govern themselves. That's the only way we're gonna get out of there!

This is a really sad example of what our troops and the Iraqi people are up against!

We have to get Al Qaeda and eliminate the bastards now!

I keep hearing that Iran is evil. So, why was the the Shah considered to be ok? The Shah was a dictator! He treated his people horribly and it was covered up!
I think that many countries the US government is friendly with might be considered evil, so Iran is different because, they have oil?

Ok, they've been accused of harboring and arming Al Qaeda. But the US has also been accused of supporting Al Qaeda during the Afghan war with Russia. Then Al Qaeda turned on us.

We should be finding Al Qaeda not wasting our resources chasing shadows! How come we never hear anything about the US progress in finding Al Qaeda? Come on, they can't be that slippery!

David Brooks says that he is thankful that George Bush is stubborn, self-confident and secretive, because the "surge" is working! Brooks says that the naysayers may harp on the fact that 1,073 U.S. troops and more than 20,000 Iraqis have died since it began and complain that the benchmarks that it was supposed to enable haven’t happened, but they’ll eat their words because victory is just around the corner.

I don't know how old you are, but I'm 58 and I remember a lot of the things you spoke about.

I'm from a little town in NJ, about 5 miles from New York City.  The cops in my town ran the show too.

Unlike my impression of the NYC police who always treated me decently.
Except one time when I got a magnum pointed at my head (in the wrong place at the wrong time) Harlem at night, with Nicky Barnes son, (Lawrence) didn't know him, was just hanging with him, fell asleep in the back seat of his car and woke up in Harlem.

The next thing I knew (white) cops were ordering us out, with magnums pointed at us. I thought I was going to faint, but I was afraid they'd shoot me if I made any sudden moves!  I'm white, just to clarify. Wouldn't want to cause any heat for you guys.

I wrote in my diary that I had been seeing strange looking people and cars and thought the Secret Service were checking me out.

I think they were actually in my apartment!

Today I went to get my birth certificate. I need it for something. Guess what, it's gone!

I always keep it in exactly the same place. I've looked everywhere and it's nowhere.

It was in a cabinet with a few other important papers and now it's not.

Seems suspicious to me! This would be a good way to annoy someone, since it takes a couple of weeks to get a new one and costs a couple of dollars.

I couldn't wait until the Fourth of July to Publish this diary. Figured we'd all get a head start.

We all know he's African-American, this is no secret.

One guy named Pete said "name one black hero". I quote below: Pete said:

Apparently Pete was raised in a box with the lid nailed shut if that's all the African-American's he's ever heard of.

You want the name of a black hero, ok, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Harriett Tubman, The four little girls who were murdered in the 1963 bombing of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, Mohammad Ali, Jesse Jackson.

Race hatred is a stupid way of thinking, found attractive, usually by those who have low self esteem.

Grow up Pete, don't wait till some white guy re-instates the draft and sends your son to war!

No long term troops in Iraq

BAGHDAD — A proposed U.S.-Iraqi security agreement that would set the conditions for a defense alliance and long-term U.S. troop presence appears increasingly in trouble.

Good we're not leaving troops in Iraq for any longer than it takes to get them all home.

Congress needs to keep the pressure on. I heard that we have a few new recruits there, who stood up and also said "Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death".

Revolution is catchy, once they see no one can silence someone weaker than they are, they all stand up***

I do enjoy a good revolution! But again, not under circumstances like these.

No kidding I just saw two of the strangest looking (secret service type) cars. One pulled out of the parking lot of a little Inn, across the street, from my apartment and roared down my quiet little block. Right before that another car sped up the street. I've been seeing strange looking people for the past couple of days too.

Hysterical!  I don't care.
They're gone now. I caught them leaving, I would have caught on in another day or two anyhow.

Besides being a Catholic, who was dragged to Church EVERY Sunday and other Holy Days, by my Irish Mother and also being, the great grand-daughter of an Orthodox Rabbi, I too have studied religion somewhat.

I have a minor in Philosophy, mostly religion classes, taught by a Chinese American professor. Truly a man of God. One couldn't find a more devout person. I learned a lot from him.*

One thing I learned is, God does not just twinge the conscience or move the Spirit. He calls, loud and clear when he wants someone to do something.

Mankind has a habit of distorting the Bible to suit themselves.  Heck they didn't even translate it correctly.

I just saw a young man I worked with for five months today.
He joined the National Guard last summer. He told me today that he goes to basic training in twenty days.
This means that he could be in Iraq in a couple of months.
He's such a sweet kid. I am very upset, not just for him, but for all of our troops over there.
